Wahaca Edinburgh
We were thrilled to be commissioned once again by architecture practice Softroom • Architecture and Design to design and make a huge bespoke curtain for the new Wahaca restaurant in the centre of Edinburgh. The 'Confetti' curtain takes inspiration from falling confetti & ticker tape and forms a dynamic backdrop to the impressive double height eating space, flanked on either side by strong vertical lines, cascading lighting and tumbling planting.
The final curtain measures over 6m x 6m and is made from a combination of over 30 mtrs Bute Fabrics two tone tweed, wool felt and custom coloured leather, with machine stitched applique. The base of the curtain is once again cuffed with 'antique' leather.
We're so excited to have worked on the first Scottish Wahaca and we would like to thank Softroom • Architecture and Design and Wahaca Edinburgh for commissioning us and for the awesome challenge of creating our largest piece of work to date!
